Don't Forget a Used Vehicle Inspection

· The type of vehicle makes the difference. We fix pretty much everything at Iron Mike Automotive, but we tend to put our own family members in Asian vehicle manufactures like Mazda, Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Acura, and Lexus. The reason why is because they last longer, have better resell value, repairs are less costly, and easier to work on. All these manufactures offer turbo engine models, in our experience the turbo vehicles do cost more to maintain and do not last as long.

· If you are looking at a vehicle, it is important to have a used vehicle inspection. If the person that you are considering buying a vehicle from does not let you inspect it, we recommend walking away. As a bonus, the issues found during the inspection could help you negotiate a better price. We offer used vehicle inspections but if you can not make it to us, have another shop inspect it.

· Carfax is a useful tool, many times titles can show it being clean, but Carfax will show accidents. 

· Check the engine oil dip stick, if oil changes have been missed, many times there will be junk built up on the stick. It should be the same color all the way up and down. 

· If you test drive the vehicle, hear and feel an issue at the same time, it will be something that will have to be addressed quickly. 

· Aim for vehicles that have lower miles. A lot of major services are due on vehicles at 90,000-120,000 miles.
